A Culture of Drug Addicts

“OK,” said my chiropractor friend to his patient, “first let’s take a look at what the emotional roots of this pain are.”

“No, doc, just adjust me” replied the patient.

People don’t understand that if your emotions are clear and your nutrition is excellent, your body will almost always heal. That’s what it is built to do, and it is very very good at it.

But that’s not what we’re taught. We are flooded with commercials from drug companies telling us that if we only buy and use their products, we will never age, suffer pain, embarrassment, or anything else uncomfortable again.

Just pass the drugs, man.

Whether our drug is alcohol, crack, nicotine, workaholism, sex, or food, the dynamic is the same: use the drug, stuff the feelings. Because we would rather die than deal with our feelings, because our feelings are the most painful thing we can experience.

But why should that be?

Our feelings, our emotions, are at the very core of whom we experience ourselves to be. If we mess with our feelings, we feel (!) like our very existence is threatened. But in reality it’s only the ego. The ego will fight tooth and nail, and will actually manifest disease and death rather than have its tyranny over our lives threatened.

But it’s really not that hard. It doesn’t have to be a war. With today’s energy techniques such as EFT and TAT and others, we can actually sneak up on those toxic emotions and neutralize the toxic emotions so easily, with minimum pain if any. And then we naturally and easily begin to heal, and we begin to live and enjoy a truly full, joyful life.

Next time, we’ll talk specifics about the connections between emotions and physical issues.

And that’s today’s holistic health tip.
